Watch Out! Says Orr
Whakatane driver Christina Orr is looking forward to the opening round of the BNT V8s 2010-11 season held at Pukekohe Park Raceway in South Auckland this weekend.

This will be her second season competing in the top billing category in Motorsport New Zealand's Premier Championship and the sole female driver in the field will again fly the red Holden flag against the blue oval.

Although driving the same Commodore as last season which saw her finish in 22nd overall and second in the Rookie Drivers Championship, the car has undergone some major adjustments leading up to this season's first round.

Smooth Driving Paid Off says Orr
Whakatane driver Christina Orr not only enjoyed her weekend of racing at the ITM400 in Hamilton over the weekend but came away with her best result for the season and a car with less damage than usual.

On a street circuit which ate many a race car over the weekend, Orr's smooth driving style kept the Holden Commodore off the walls and on-track to earning her some creditable results and 14th overall in the BNTV8s at the weekend.

"The weekend was great, we had lots of fun, we came away with a straight car and the best result this season, the only damage we had was from where I hit the tyre at the chicane with my spoiler and that was two laps before the end of the last race." she said.

Tough Week Equals Top Weekend
It has been a trying week for Christina Orr and the team as they prepare for the biggest motor racing event of the year the ITM 400 at Hamilton this weekend.

Whakatane driver Orr will take her touring car debut at the event racing the team's Holden Commodore with an ever aggressive field of BNTV8's as they contest three races around the Hamilton street circuit. This weekend New Zealand's top motorsport series becomes the top billing support class for round five of the V8 Supercars Championship.

Orr Sets Goals for New Season
Whakatane's Christina Orr had an enjoyable and successful first season in the nation's toughest motorsport category the BNTV8s Championship which wrapped up at Taupo Motorsport Park at the weekend.

Throwing herself in the deep end at the season's opener at Pukekohe last November the transition from open wheelers to the aggression of V8 tourers was not unexpected and she has shown herself able to mix it up with the big boys.

"I thought that I would get bullied a lot more and come away from rounds with a broken car that was non-existent after being beaten up. Overall I was happy with the season but a little disappointed that in some of the races I didn't do better than I did. Everyone told me that it was a hard class and it would take a couple of years to get near the front." she said.

Christina Primed to Fight Back at Taupo
With just the sixth and final round of her rookie season in the BNTV8s Championship remaining, Christina Orr reflects how she has learned the ropes the hard way mixing it up with the feild of aggressive Ford and Holden drivers.

At the weekend a field of hungry V8 drivers battled out round five on the Manfeild Autocourse in Feilding before heading to Taupo Motorsport Park next month to wrap up the highly competitive series.

Where the touring car adage 'rubbing is racing' is more of a suggestion than an indication of the BNTV8s genre, 22 year old Orr realises she wil have to fight to hold her own against a feild of very aggressive male drivers.

Christina Orr Looks Ahead to Manfeild
For Christina Orr the fourth round of the BNTV8s Championship held at Timaru International Motor Raceway at the weekend could have gone better.

"Timaru is one of those tracks where we don't seem to get along, there's just no chemistry." she says.

However in a race weekend which saw no end of drama and even the demise of John McIntyre's championship lead due to his damaging his car beyond repair in the very first lap of race one, Orr was pleased to take the car back home in one piece after finishing all three races and earning some much welcomed BNTV8s Championship points.

Christina Proves Quick In The Wet
Christina Orr showed her capabilities in the team's Holden Commodore at Powerbuilt International Raceway, Ruapuna at the weekend in what was shaping up to be a promising round for the 22 year old BNTV8s rookie.

After showing competitive pace in practice and qualification sessions at only her second meeting in the series, the ex-Toyota Racing Series and Indy Lights driver placed well in the opening race with 20th but sadly was forced to withdraw just three laps into race two.

An engine problem which surfaced in race one reappeared early in the second.

I Can Do This Says Christina
Christina Orr is staring down her most formidable challenge yet by entering the male dominated, highly aggressive and competitive BNTV8s for the 2009-10 season.

The Whakatane driver is well known in motorsport circles after an already impressive career spanning 16 years in open wheeled race cars including Formula First, Formula Ford and the Toyota Racing Series.

She has also exhibited her talents in Australia competing in Formula Holden and earlier this year racing a Subaru Impreza at the Bathurst 12 hour joining forces with two other female drivers.
